Laura Pendergrass

Laura G. Pendergrass is the co-founder of SLATE Real Estate, a locally focused agency built to serve the people and places of Franklin, Vance, Granville, Warren, and Wake Counties. Known for her mix of professionalism, strategy, and small-town connection, Laura blends her background in real estate law, marketing, and investing to guide clients through every transaction with clarity and confidence.

Laura attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied Journalism and Mass Communication with a focus in Public Relations and earned a Business Certificate from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. She also holds a Paralegal Certification from the North Carolina State Bar Association, bringing a unique depth of legal and contractual insight to her work in real estate.

Laura’s journey in real estate began in 2016 as a paralegal, where she gained hands-on experience navigating the legal side of property transactions. By 2018, she expanded into real estate investing, learning firsthand what makes a deal both practical and profitable — experience she now shares with buyers, sellers, and investors across the region.

Based in Franklinton, Laura lives with her husband and two daughters, Kennedy and Sterling. When she’s not negotiating contracts or touring homes, you’ll find her cheering at the ballfield, camping at Kerr Lake, or exploring North Carolina’s small towns and state parks — the same communities she’s proud to call home.
